Trump praises Xi Jinping after meeting: “A great leader of a great nation”

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): US President Donald Trump met with Chinese President Xi Jinping in Busan, South Korea. The two leaders discussed a wide range of issues. Trump said, "It's an honor to be with a longtime friend. This meeting with the distinguished and respected President of China is going to be very successful. We have already reached agreement on several issues and hope to reach agreement on some more."

The US President said, "President Xi Jinping is a great leader of a great country. I am confident that we will have a wonderful relationship for a long time. It is an honor to have you with us." He said that a trade agreement with China could be signed soon. Trump expressed hope that the meeting between the two countries would be successful. He described Xi Jinping as a "strong and tough negotiator," saying that these qualities make him an effective leader.

Meanwhile, Chinese President Xi Jinping said, "President Trump, it's a pleasure to meet you. It's good to see you again, as many years have passed. Since your re-election, we have spoken three times on the phone, exchanged numerous letters, and have been in constant contact. Under our joint guidance, China-US relations have remained overall stable. Although, due to our different circumstances, we do not agree on every issue, but differences between two major economies are natural."
