New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Former US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has made a shocking announcement. She has advocated for giving the Nobel Peace Prize to President Donald Trump! But with one condition. She has said that if he brings about a ceasefire without handing over any region of Ukraine to Russia, then she will nominate him for the Nobel Peace Prize without hesitation.

Hillary Clinton made this comment while speaking at 'Raging Moderates' a few hours before the crucial meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump in Anchorage, Alaska. She said, "If Trump can actually end this terrible war without changing the geographical status of Ukraine, then I can definitely nominate him for the Nobel Peace Prize." Clinton said that Trump is not meeting a friend but an adversary who wants to see the destruction of America and the Western alliance.

Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump have been political rivals of each other. The rivalry between the two started with the 2016 US presidential election. Trump defeated Hillary Clinton in that election. During that election campaign, Clinton strongly condemned Trump's praise for authoritarian leaders like Putin. Trump also mocked Clinton during the election campaign and questioned her work as Foreign Minister. Despite political differences, Hillary Clinton's promise to support Trump for the Nobel if he ends the Russia-Ukraine war shows that she sees America's victory in it.

Donald Trump has promised to end the Russia-Ukraine war soon. However, analysts say that Russia's condition for ending the war is the end of its claim on some areas of Ukraine and Western sanctions. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has strongly rejected any territorial concessions. In such a situation, the Russia-Ukraine ceasefire is not going to be easy. After the summit in Alaska on Friday, President Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin said that the talks were positive and we are close to ending the Ukraine war. But, no immediate ceasefire was announced. In a conversation with Fox News, Trump denied any concrete agreement and said that our meeting was very good. Trump said that he would also discuss the talks related to the meeting with European leaders. Russian President Putin also described the meeting as constructive and respectful.
