New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu)- US President Donald Trump seems to be surrounded in his own country for his tariff policy against India. Former US Charge d'Affaires in India Donald Heflin said that this decision is very complicated. At the same time, Donald Trump's top economic advisor has also threatened the Indian government against buying Russian oil. US National Economic Council Director Kevin Hassett has warned that if India fails to curb the trade of Russian crude oil, the US President is not going to remove the tariff in any way.

Kevin Hassett attacked the Indian government, saying that US-India trade talks have also become 'complicated' now and India is adopting an "obstinate" attitude in opening its market for American products. Hassett further said that if India does not bow down, I do not think President Trump is the one to bow down. The US on Wednesday doubled the duty on Indian goods to 50 percent, which is the highest for any country other than Brazil. This also includes an additional 25 percent duty on India's purchase of Russian crude oil. Hassett said that trade talks with India are also "complicated" and claimed that Trump has imposed tariffs only to put pressure on Roop to make a peace deal and save millions of lives. India has said that it is not going to bow down to American pressure.
