Toronto (The Uttam Hindu): Indian-origin businessman Darshan Singh Sahsi was shot dead in Abbotsford, Canada. His ancestral village, Rajgarh, is located near Khanna in Punjab. The news of his death has left the entire village in deep mourning.

According to media reports, Goldy Dhillon, associated with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, claimed responsibility for the killing through a social media post. The post alleged that Darshan Singh was involved in the drug trade and refused to pay money demanded by the gang, after which he blocked their contact number.

However, Darshan Singh’s family has strongly denied these accusations, calling them baseless. They said Darshan built his company through hard work and honesty, and it is now a large-scale business worth billions. He had also opened a branch of his company in his native village Rajgarh, which handled management operations.

The village remains in shock and grief. Relatives and villagers are visiting the family home to offer condolences. His manager Nitin said that Darshan Singh was a kind-hearted person who always helped those in need. Relative Gurbakhsh Singh also expressed deep sorrow, saying the family has lost a hardworking and compassionate man.

Police have launched an investigation and are examining all possible angles to determine the motive behind the murder.
