Instagram live horror: 3 young women killed in live Instagram video by drug traffickers
Buenos Aires ( The Uttam Hindu): A gruesome murder in Argentina has shocked the entire nation. Drug traffickers brutally murdered three young women during an Instagram live video, prompting thousands of people to take to the streets of the capital, Buenos Aires, demanding justice.
The deceased women have been identified as Lara, Brenda, and Morena. A feminist group organized a protest against this brutal crime. Demonstrators marched through the streets, beating drums and chanting, “This was a drug-fueled femicide! Our lives are not worthless!”
According to officials, the crime was so horrific that it was livestreamed from a private Instagram account, watched by 45 people at the time. Investigators have linked the murder to drug gangs. The incident has sparked a renewed debate about women's safety across the country.
The families and relatives of the victims are in shock and demanding the harshest punishment for the killers. Speaking to reporters, Brenda's father, Leonel del Castillo, said that women's safety has become more important than ever. He said with a heavy heart that his daughter's body was so brutally mutilated that he could not even identify her. Meanwhile, Antonio del Castillo, the grandfather of the two other girls, tearfully called the killers "bloodthirsty" and appealed to the people to support them in their fight for justice.
Police investigations are ongoing in the case. National Security Minister Patricia Bullrich confirmed the arrest of a fifth suspect on Friday. This brings the total number of arrests in the case to five, including three men and two women. The fifth suspect was arrested in the town of Villazon, near the Bolivian border, and is accused of arranging the car used in the murder.
