Iran Strikes Back: Iran Fires Missile Barrage on Israel After Airstrike; Explosions Rock Tel Aviv
Jerusalem (The Uttam Hindu):In a dramatic escalation of hostilities, Iran launched a powerful retaliatory airstrike on Israel late Friday night, triggering explosions across Jerusalem and Tel Aviv. Around 150 ballistic missiles were fired in two waves, targeting various locations across the country.
Missiles were visibly streaking through the skies above Tel Aviv, and air raid sirens echoed nationwide as residents were urged to seek shelter. According to military sources, nine impact sites have been confirmed, with over 15 individuals reported injured — most sustaining minor wounds, though two remain in serious condition.
Despite the scale of the assault, Israel’s defense systems intercepted a large number of incoming missiles, and many reportedly fell short of their targets. Several structures, including an apartment building in Ramat Gan and another in central Tel Aviv, sustained heavy damage.
In a strongly worded statement, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei condemned Israel’s actions, calling them a "grave mistake" and vowed that the regime would face serious consequences. He affirmed that Iran’s armed forces, supported by the government and citizens, are fully prepared to respond to any further provocations and will avenge the blood of their martyrs.
