London (The Uttam Hindu): Former IPL commissioner Lalit Modi and liquor baron Vijay Mallya, who are on the wanted list of Indian investigation agencies, are once again in the news for their opulence and carefree style. The occasion was Lalit Modi's 63rd birthday, which he celebrated in a very royal style in London. The most special thing about this party was that another fugitive Indian businessman Vijay Mallya also attended it as a special guest. Lalit Modi himself has shared glimpses of this celebration on his social media handle, in which he is seen dancing in the very expensive and posh 'Maddox Club' of Mayfair.

The place where Lalit Modi celebrated his birthday is known for its opulence and expensive hobbies. According to media reports, the minimum cost for a table at this club during a party is around 1,000 pounds, or approximately 1.18 lakh rupees. In a video going viral on social media, Lalit Modi is seen dancing with friends and family amidst disco lights and lavish decorations. Songs like "Happy Birthday Lalit, King of Smiles" are playing in the background of the video. Modi specially thanked his partner Reema Bauri for this grand event, calling it the best weekend of his life and a wonderful party thrown by the "love of his life."

Mallya's presence in the video has once again served as a mockery of the Indian legal system. Both are currently living in the UK and are accused of serious financial crimes in India. Lalit Modi, who is facing several ED cases related to money laundering and FEMA violations, fled the country in 2010. Vijay Mallya, declared a "fugitive economic offender" in the Kingfisher Airlines debt case of thousands of crores of rupees, has also been taking refuge in London for a long time. Mallya recently lost his appeal against a 2021 bankruptcy order in the UK, although he has consistently claimed that Indian authorities have recovered more than the outstanding debt.
