New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu) – Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and his wife Cilia Flores have been detained by the United States. North Korea, calling Maduro its "friend," has issued an open warning to the United States of World War II.

North Korea's Supreme Leader Kim Jong-un demanded that Donald Trump and the US leadership immediately release Maduro's condition. Kim Jong-un openly warned the US that this action could lead the world to a world war. Calling Maduro his "friend," he said this repressive move could spark global conflict. Kim clearly stated that the Venezuelan president must be released immediately, or else there will be serious international consequences.

Meanwhile, Russia has also strongly condemned the US actions. The Russian Foreign Ministry issued a statement saying that the US has committed "armed aggression" against Venezuela, which is deeply worrying and condemnable. Moscow has appealed to all parties to avoid escalating tensions and seek a solution through dialogue.

Meanwhile, US Attorney General Pam Bondi said Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and his wife have been charged in the Southern District of New York. She said Maduro faces serious charges including narco-terrorism conspiracy, cocaine trafficking, possession of machine guns and dangerous weapons, and conspiracy against the United States
