Massacre Horror: 100 People Burned Alive by Armed Militants in Gruesome Village Attack
New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): A heartbreaking incident of violence has come to light in Yelewata village of Central Benue State of Nigeria. Unknown gunmen attacked the village and brutally killed at least 100 people. Amnesty International Nigeria confirmed this horrific massacre on Saturday.
Amnesty shared the information on the social media platform 'X' (formerly Twitter) and said that many people are still missing in this attack, and dozens are seriously injured. According to the report, many families were locked in their homes and burnt alive.

The northern part of the state is Muslim-dominated, while the southern part is considered to be Christian-dominated. There has been a long-standing tension between herders and farmers in the region over land and resources, which turns into violent clashes from time to time.
The local administration and security agencies have not yet given detailed information about this attack, but efforts are underway to establish peace at the scene and provide treatment to the injured. Human rights organizations have strongly condemned this massacre and have demanded that the culprits be arrested and given justice as soon as possible.
