Most-Wanted Gangster Mayank Singh Extradited from Azerbaijan to India, Had Links with Bishnoi Gang

Ranchi (The Uttam Hindu): Jharkhand Police and Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) have achieved a historic success. This is the first time in the history of the state that a notorious criminal has been arrested from abroad and successfully extradited to India. Most wanted criminal Mayank Singh alias Sunil Meena, wanted in more than 40 serious criminal cases, has been arrested from Azerbaijan and brought to Ranchi.

A special team led by Jharkhand ATS SP Rishabh Jha reached Ranchi's Birsa Munda Airport on Saturday with Mayank Singh amid tight security. Dozens of serious cases like murder, firing, extortion and threats are registered against Mayank Singh and he was operating his criminal network even while sitting abroad.

Wires are connected to Lawrence Bishnoi and Aman Sahu gang

Investigation has revealed that Mayank Singh is also connected to the country's infamous Lawrence Bishnoi gang and Jharkhand's gangster Aman Sahu gang. He was getting many big criminal incidents like murder, extortion and firing done in Jharkhand through his henchmen while sitting abroad. His arrest is being considered a big achievement for the Jharkhand Police.

Was arrested in October 2024

Jharkhand ATS SP Rishabh Kumar Jha said that Mayank Singh was arrested in October last year (2024) in Datu, Azerbaijan with the help of local police. Since then, a long legal process was going on to bring him to India, in which success has been achieved now.

He said, "Mayank Singh is being questioned intensively, which is expected to yield many important information about the criminal gangs active in the state. He will be produced in a court in Ramgarh and police custody will be sought." The SP also expressed confidence that other criminals hiding abroad will also be brought back soon through extradition or deportation.
