Pakistan Rebuilding Lashkar HQ in Muridke Destroyed by Indian Mirage Jets in Operation Sindoor
New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): After the Pahalgam terror attack, the Indian Army had launched Operation Sindoor on May 7, during which Mirage fighter jets crossed the border and struck multiple terrorist hideouts in Pakistan. Among the key targets destroyed was the Markaz Tayyaba, the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) headquarters in Muridke, Punjab (Pakistan).
Fresh intelligence inputs now reveal that Pakistan is preparing to rebuild the terror hub. According to security agencies, last month, heavy machinery was moved to Muridke for the reconstruction. On September 4, the yellow building known as Umm ul Qura was demolished, followed by the red block three days later.
Sources suggest Pakistan aims to inaugurate the new Lashkar headquarters on February 5, 2026 — Kashmir Solidarity Day. The rebuilt complex is expected to function as a training ground, indoctrination centre, and operational planning hub for terror activities.
LeT Commanders Assigned for Rebuild
The reconstruction task has reportedly been handed over to Maulana Abu Zar and Ustad-ul-Mujahideen, while Commander Yunus Bukhari has been assigned to oversee operational supervision. Intelligence reports also indicate that in August, the Pakistani government allocated ₹4 crore to Lashkar for this project, with an estimated ₹15 crore required to complete the rebuild. This further exposes Pakistan’s duplicity on terrorism.
Flood Relief Used as a Front for Funding
Currently, large parts of Pakistan are reeling under floods. However, Lashkar-e-Taiba is actively raising funds in the name of relief operations, with a major portion of the money being diverted to Muridke. Security agencies recall a similar pattern during the 2005 earthquake, when LeT collected billions of dollars under the guise of humanitarian aid but siphoned off 80% of the funds for terror infrastructure, including the Muridke HQ and Markaz Abbas in Kotli.
