Islamabad (The Uttam Hindu): At a time when Pakistan is facing devastating floods and rains, lakhs of people have become homeless and are pleading for government help, the country's Defense Minister Khawaja Asif has given such an absurd and insensitive statement, which has created an uproar in the country and the world. Describing the flood as 'Allah's grace', he has advised people to store this water in their homes. The video of his statement has gone viral on social media, which is being criticized from all sides.

While talking to a news channel, Khawaja Asif gave this strange advice on the question of flood relief. He said, "The whole world is suffering due to water shortage. In such a situation, the flood in Pakistan is a happy coincidence. This should not be considered a disaster, but a blessing of Allah." He further said that instead of protesting, people should focus on storing this water in their homes, this will end all their problems.

When he was questioned on the government's accountability, the Defence Minister clearly shrugged it off. He said, "The government has no system to stop floods. People are blaming the government for no reason." He blamed the powerless local governments and the encroaching common people for the floods and said that when people change the path of water, floods are certain to happen.

This statement has come at a time when flood-stricken Pakistani citizens are taking to the streets to protest against the government and demanding immediate relief. This strange advice of the Defense Minister has further fueled people's anger.
