PM Modi Visits China After 7 Years; Receives Warm Welcome for SCO Summit

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu)- After the US tariff, there has been a stir at the global level. After completing his visit to Japan, PM Modi has reached China on a two-day visit. Here PM Modi will participate in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit organized in Tianjin. Earlier, PM Modi had visited China 7 years ago. During this time, PM Modi will meet Chinese President Xi Jinping twice bilaterally.


 

PM Modi was given a warm welcome at the airport on his arrival in Tianjin city of China. PM Modi will participate in the SCO Summit in China. Along with this, he will also meet Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin. A video of PM Modi's welcome on his arrival in Tianjin has also surfaced. In which many senior Chinese diplomats are seen welcoming PM Modi. When PM Modi's plane landed in Tianjin city of China, he was given a grand welcome by laying a red carpet. Many female artists of China are seen dancing to welcome PM Modi. On reaching China, PM Modi wrote in a post on the social media platform X. In this post of PM Modi written in Chinese, it was written - Arrived in Tianjin, China, looking forward to intense discussions and meetings with the leaders of various countries during the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Summit.


It is known that before this, Modi and Xi Jinping have met in Kazan, Russia in 2024 and in Johannesburg, South Africa in 2023 at the BRICS summit. Last week, Politburo member of the Chinese Communist Party and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi visited India to attend the 24th meeting of Special Representatives on Border Affairs. PM Modi's visit to China is taking place at a time when the whole world is struggling with the tariff policies of US President Donald Trump. Trump has imposed 50 percent tariff on India and 30 percent tariff on China. The SCO Summit is going to be held in China from 31 August to 1 September. Leaders of more than 20 countries will participate in it.
