Political upheaval in Nepal: Parliament dissolved, Sushila Karki to take charge as interim PM

Who is Sushila Karki?
Sushila Karki has been the first woman Chief Justice of Nepal. She served in the Supreme Court of Nepal from 11 July 2016 to 6 June 2017. Considering her experience and unbiased image, it has been decided to entrust her with the responsibility of the post of interim Prime Minister. Political observers believe that this step has been taken with the aim of handling the ongoing political turmoil in Nepal and restoring public confidence. However, given the ongoing protests on the streets, the situation may become even more challenging in the coming days.
