New York (The Uttam Hindu): Amid the ongoing debate over H-1B visa fees, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt stated that President Donald Trump is committed to boosting foreign investment in the U.S. while ensuring that American workers do not lose their jobs.

Her remarks come at a time when the H-1B program is under strict scrutiny, with concerns that foreign workers may reduce employment opportunities for Americans. According to Leavitt, Trump has clearly told foreign companies that if they want to operate in the United States, they must prioritize hiring American citizens. She clarified that the President does not support replacing U.S. workers with foreign labor.

Leavitt added that Trump is strengthening the manufacturing sector through tariffs and improved trade agreements. Regarding H-1B visas, she said the President’s stance is practical if companies invest heavily and initially bring in specialists from abroad, the goal is to transition these jobs to American workers as soon as possible.

Recently, Trump also acknowledged that despite criticism from conservative and MAGA supporters, the U.S. still needs skilled foreign professionals. Speaking at the U.S.–Saudi Investment Forum on November 20, he said that before hiring foreign experts in high-tech industries, American workers must be trained properly.
