RED ALERT! Israel's Sea of Galilee Turns Blood-Red, Stuns Onlookers

Jerusalem (The Uttam Hindu): Israel's famous and historical 'Sea of Galilee' has become a topic of discussion around the world these days due to its changed color. The water of the lake has suddenly turned red mysteriously, seeing which the local people and tourists are shocked and scared. This strange incident has once again drawn attention to the dangerous effects of global warming.

Initially, there were various rumours and fear among the people regarding the red colour of the water. However, when the officials tested the water samples, the truth came out. The investigation found that the main reason for the change in colour of the water is a green algae named 'Botryococcus braunii'.

According to scientists, the temperature of the area is constantly increasing due to global warming, which is providing a favorable environment for this moss to flourish. When this moss comes in contact with bright sunlight, it releases a special type of red pigment. Due to this pigment, the water of the entire lake is appearing red.

Israeli officials have clarified that even though the color of the water has changed, it is completely safe for human use. However, this incident has posed a serious threat to the aquatic life of the lake. Due to the thick layer of algae, sunlight is not able to reach the depths of the lake, due to which the oxygen level is decreasing and the lives of other marine creatures including fish are in danger.

Experts say that due to climate change, such incidents are now becoming common in lakes and seas around the world, which is a major environmental warning.
