New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): The central government held an all party meeting to review the situation in West Asia with focus on energy security foreign policy and the safety of Indian citizens. The meeting was chaired by Rajnath Singh and attended by senior leaders including Amit Shah and S. Jaishankar.

During the meeting the government assured political parties that there is no energy crisis in the country and said LPG supply remains stable with a significant rise in domestic production. It also shared updates on Indian citizens and ships in the Gulf region stating that several stranded vessels have been cleared while evacuation efforts for others are ongoing and lakhs of Indians have been brought back safely.

On Pakistan’s role the government said its actions are not new and dismissed any suggestion of mediation. Jaishankar stated firmly that India will not act as a broker country and will follow its own independent foreign policy. The government added that it is maintaining communication with all relevant countries and closely monitoring the situation while taking necessary steps to protect national interests.
