Rajnath Singh arrived in China on Thursday for the SCO Defence Ministers' meeting. He was welcomed by Admiral Don Jun on his arrival. Rajnath Singh, Don Jun and other leaders posed for a group photo before the Defence Ministers' meeting.

Addressing the SCO summit, Defence Minister Singh referred to the heinous terror attack in Pahalgam on April 22 in which 26 civilians, including a Nepali national, were killed. He said India exercised its right to self-defence through “Operation Sindoor” to destroy cross-border terror infrastructure. He also urged the SCO countries to reject double standards and hold accountable those aiding terrorism.

India refused to support the joint declaration at the SCO Defence Ministers' meeting as it excluded counter-terrorism concerns.
