Texas Flood Disaster: 51 Dead, 27 Girls Missing as Rescue Teams Scramble to Find Survivors
Washington DC (Uttam Hindu News): So far 51 people have died due to sudden floods in the Guadalupe River after heavy rains in the US state of Texas, while about 27 girls are missing. There was a summer camp for girls near the Guadalupe River, which got caught in the flood. Officials said that the water level of the river rose by 26 feet (8 meters) in just 45 minutes.

The missing girls are being searched with helicopters, boats and drones. Many more people are feared to be missing. Texas Governor Dan Patrick said that the rescue team is working. In which nine rescue teams, 14 helicopters and 12 drones are being used. More than 850 people have been rescued so far.
Camp Mystic, a girls' summer camp near Kerville, was completely flooded. 750 girls at the camp have been rescued. There is no electricity in the camp and many children are still awaiting rescue. Officials said it is difficult to give an exact number of people missing.
