Tragic end: Man takes his own life 2 years after witnessing girlfriend's murder

Tel Aviv (Uttam Hindu News): The pain of Hamas' brutal attack on the Nova Music Festival in October 2023 remains alive two years later. Roi Shalev, a 30-year-old Israeli man who lost his girlfriend in the massacre, committed suicide a few days after the second anniversary of the horrific incident. His body was found inside his burned-out car in Tel Aviv. Hours before his death, he posted a poignant message on social media, saying he could no longer bear the pain.


Last message before death

On October 10, three days after the second anniversary of the attack, Roi Shalev shared a social media post that worried his friends and family. He wrote, "Please don't be angry with me. No one will ever understand me, and that's okay... I just want this pain to end. I'm alive, but everything inside is dead." His body was recovered just hours after the post.


That dreadful day of October 7th On

October 7th, 2023, during the Hamas attack on the Nova Music Festival, Roi Shalev, his girlfriend Mapal Adam, and their friend tried to save their lives by hiding under a car. Roi shielded his girlfriend to protect her, and for hours they both pretended to be dead. But the terrorists shot them both, killing Mapal Adam on the spot. Roi never forgot this trauma. 378 people lost their lives in this attack.


The tragedy

wasn't limited to Roi alone. Just days after the attack, Roi's mother, who was very close to his girlfriend, Mapal Adam, committed suicide by setting her car on fire.


Mapal Adam's sister, Mayan, shared a photo of her sister and Roi, writing, "Roi was murdered on October 7th, but they said goodbye yesterday. I'm at a loss for words... I hope they're hugging and smiling now. Their hearts are connected again."
