Washington (The Uttam Hindu) : US President Donald Trump has once again trolled world leaders. He re-shared a map showing Canada, Greenland, and Venezuela as part of the United States. Notably, Trump also posted this image on January 20, 2026.

The AI mock-up, uploaded to Truth Social on Monday, shows European leaders, including French President Emmanuel Macron and UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, looking at a graphic showing the territory Trump won. Trump did not write a caption to the Truth Social post.

The post has sparked global debate, especially in light of Trump's earlier comments, where he talked about making Canada the 51st state and buying Greenland. He has consistently claimed that the Danish territory of Greenland is vital to US security in the Arctic region amid perceived threats from Russia and China. Venezuela's involvement comes after the recent arrest of President Nicolas Maduro.

Trump has previously teased Greenland by sharing AI images showing him planting an American flag on the island. Earlier this month, at a black-tie dinner at the Alfalfa Club, Trump joked that the US would buy Greenland instead of invading it. According to The Washington Post, Trump said, "We're not going to invade Greenland. We're going to buy it. I never intended to make Greenland the 51st state. I want Canada to be the 51st state. Greenland could be the 52nd, and Venezuela could be the 53rd."

Trump has previously angered Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney by threatening to make Canada the 51st state. During a meeting in the Oval Office in May 2025, Carney warned Trump that Canada was not for sale, and never would be. He told Trump, "As you know from real estate, there are some places that are never for sale."
