Trump claims he stopped India-Pakistan conflict, says he deserves seven Nobel Peace Prizes
Washington (The Uttam Hindu): Former US President Donald Trump has once again caused a sensation by claiming that he prevented a major conflict between India and Pakistan. He said that he used the power of trade to pacify the two nuclear-armed neighbors earlier this year. He also claimed that he should receive the Nobel Peace Prize for ending seven wars around the world.
Speaking at an event at the American Cornerstone Institute, Donald Trump said, "America is highly respected on the world stage today. We're brokering peace deals and preventing wars. We prevented a war between India and Pakistan." Revealing his strategy, Trump said, "Think about India and Pakistan... and you know how I prevented it? Through trade. They want to trade. And I have great respect for both leaders."
Trump claimed to have prevented a total of seven conflicts. He said, "Look, India-Pakistan, Thailand-Cambodia, Armenia-Azerbaijan, Kosovo-Serbia, Israel-Iran, Egypt-Ethiopia, and Rwanda-Congo, we prevented them all." He also stated that 60% of these conflicts were prevented because of trade.
Recalling his warning to India, Trump said, "I told India, 'Look, if you guys fight, we're not going to do any trade.'" He also stressed that both countries possess nuclear weapons, highlighting the gravity of the situation.
Commenting on the Nobel Prize, Trump said he was told he would receive the Nobel Prize if he could stop the conflict between Russia and Ukraine. Trump replied, "So what about the other seven? I should get a Nobel for each one." He also said he thought the Russia-Ukraine conflict would be the easiest to resolve because he had a good relationship with President Putin, but he was disappointed.
