US strikes Isfahan with bunker-buster bombs; Trump shares terrifying video
US reportedly used bunker-buster bombs in Iran’s Isfahan as Trump shared explosion video. Here’s what we know about the attack.
Tehran (The Uttam Hindu): Former US President Donald Trump has shared a video showing a massive explosion in Iran. According to media reports, the incident occurred early Tuesday morning in Isfahan. The footage shows a series of explosions followed by intense fire, lighting up the night sky in orange. Although Trump did not provide detailed information with the video, reports suggest it may depict a joint US-Israel strike on a major ammunition depot in Isfahan. The city, with a population of around 2.3 million, also houses the Badr military airbase.
According to a report by The Wall Street Journal, citing a US official, “bunker-buster” bombs weighing about 2,000 pounds (approximately 907 kilograms) were used in the attack. The official stated that a large number of penetrator munitions were deployed to target underground facilities.
Reports further indicate that multiple powerful explosions occurred after the strike, creating massive fireballs and shockwaves across the area. Recent information suggests that Iran may have moved around 540 kilograms of highly enriched uranium to an underground facility in Isfahan. Earlier, the city had also been targeted during last year’s “Operation Midnight Hammer,” which reportedly aimed at nuclear installations.
