New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Amid ongoing tensions between the United States, Israel, and Iran, the Iranian military has strongly mocked recent remarks by US President Donald Trump. Trump had claimed that positive talks were held with Iran over two days, leading to a decision that the US would pause attacks for the next five days.

Responding to this, Iranian military spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Ebrahim Zolfaghari of the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters rejected the US claims. In a recorded message broadcast on state television, he stated that America’s so-called strategic strength has now turned into failure.

Taking a sharp dig, he said, “A country that calls itself a global superpower would have exited this situation by now if it could.” The Iranian military also warned the US not to portray its setbacks as a form of compromise. It described American statements as “hollow” and said the time for such claims is over.

Zolfaghari further remarked, “Have your internal differences grown so much that you are now talking only to yourselves?” This statement comes amid reports that the Trump administration had sent a 15-point ceasefire proposal to Iran through Pakistan. However, Iran has clearly stated that it is not in favor of any agreement.

The Iranian spokesperson reiterated, “Our stance has been clear from the beginning and will remain so—we will not compromise with people like you, neither now nor in the future.”
