Zelensky Stands Firm: 'No Gifting Land to Russia' Ahead of Trump-Putin Talks

Kiev (The Uttam Hindu)- Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has expressed his opinion on the proposed meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump on the social media platform X. Along with this, he has also revealed his conversation with British PM Keir Starmer.

He wrote in the post, "I spoke to British Prime Minister Keir Starmer and I am grateful to him. We have a common view on the need for lasting peace in Ukraine and the danger of Russia's plan to limit everything to issues that are impossible to talk about." Zelensky said, "We and Britain have a common view. We need clear steps that lead to peace. At the same time, we need to work together with all our international partners. We appreciate the commitment shown by the United Kingdom, the United States and all partners to end the war."

The President said that Ukraine is actively in favor of diplomatic efforts. Earlier, he expressed his opinion on the proposed meeting of Trump and Putin. The message was clear that no kind of reconciliation is possible without involving Ukraine and they cannot gift their land to Russia.

In the video message, he said, "Any decisions that will be taken against Ukraine, or decisions that will be taken without us, will be considered against peace. Such decisions will neither achieve anything nor have any future. Such decisions are born dead, they have no effect. We need real peace, which people accept." President Trump has announced preparations for his meeting with Putin in Alaska. This is a far cry from the war that is going on in our country, against us, and which cannot be ended without us under any circumstances.

He further said, Putin did not believe in our people and therefore took a disappointing decision to occupy Ukraine. Ignoring the Ukrainians was his biggest mistake. I believe in my people. Ukrainians are strong. Ukrainians can protect their rights and their land. Claimed that there are many countries that stand with them even today. He said, “Many people in the world are standing with Ukraine in this war. Those who are with Russia also know that Russia is not doing the right thing. We cannot gift our land to Russia. The Ukrainian people deserve peace, but all partners must understand what a respectable peace is.

This war needs to end, and it must be ended by Russia. Russia started the war and is prolonging it by ignoring the borders all the time. That is the real problem, nothing else. The answer to the Ukrainian territorial issue is already in the Constitution of Ukraine. No one can deviate from it and no one will allow it to. Ukrainians will never give up their land.
