45 Stabs, Slit Throat, Rape —Young Woman Brutally Raped, Stabbed 45 Times, and Strangled
Moradabad (The Uttam Hindu): In the Mainather area of the district, all limits of brutality were crossed with a young woman. The woman, who had gone out to gather fodder for goats, was raped, and then her private parts were mutilated with a knife. The savagery did not stop there — she was stabbed 45 times all over her body. To ensure she wouldn’t survive, her neck was also strangled with a rope. Believing her to be dead, the attackers left her body in a field and fled the scene.
The incident occurred in a village in the Mainather region. According to the victim's father, around 5 PM on Saturday evening, his daughter had left home with a sickle and a plastic sack to cut grass for the goats. She also carried a black mobile phone. When she did not return by late evening, the family became worried and started searching for her. The father said that due to concerns about the family's reputation, they initially did not inform anyone.
On Sunday morning, the father and his son resumed the search. Around 10:30 AM, they found the daughter’s blood-soaked body in Jabbar’s cornfield, about 500 meters from their home. They then informed the police. Upon receiving news of the murder, SP Dehat Kunwar Akash Singh arrived at the scene with the police force. SSP Satpal Antil also reached the site and reviewed the situation. A forensic team collected photographs and other evidence from the scene.
At the location, the sickle and plastic sack were found near the girl's hand. Her slippers were lying near her feet. Her body was drenched in blood, and there was heavy bleeding from her private parts. No signs of struggle were evident at the scene, but two corn plants were broken where the body lay. Initial investigations suggest that the girl was raped and then murdered. Police have gathered detailed information from the girl’s father.
The girl's father told the police that a young man named Rafi from their neighborhood used to harass his daughter and was trying to trap her in a love affair. He had complained about this several times to Rafi's family, but Rafi did not mend his ways. One day, Rafi even blocked his daughter's path and, when she resisted, threatened to kill her. The father alleged that his daughter had seen the accused roaming near Jabbar's field. He suspects that Rafi strangled his daughter in the cornfield and then attacked her body with a sharp weapon. Wild animals had also torn flesh from her left arm. The police have registered a case against Rafi and have started searching for him.
