6-Year-old Zoya Khan bags gold in Nunchaku championship, eyes National tournament spot

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Six-year-old Zoya Khan, a resident of Gairatpur Bas village in Gurugram, won the gold medal at the Haryana State Nunchaku Championship with a stellar performance. With this, Zoya has also been selected for the National Nunchaku Championship.
About 250 children from the state participated in the Haryana State Nanchakku Championship, in which Zoya Khan won the gold medal in the 6 years age group by defeating all her competitors.
The National Championship will be held in Kanpur from January 30 to February 1, where Zoya will look to continue her impressive performance.
Zoya's father Jamil Khan said that apart from Zoya, his 12-year-old daughter Zia has achieved black belt in Judo Karate and has also been honoured by World Grand Master Mr. Thomas Weber.
Jameel Khan, originally from Mewat, expressed his happiness over the achievement of both his daughters, saying, "I am very happy. I want both my daughters to bring glory to the country. The government is also promoting sports. We thank the government for this."
After winning the gold medal, Joy Khan said, "I won the gold medal at the Haryana State Nunchaku Championship. I won the medal in the competition on December 28th. I really enjoyed playing this tournament. I want to win medals in this sport in the future. I have taken coaching from Naresh Arya and Karan Rathi Sir."
Jameel Khan credited Zoya's success to coaches Naresh Arya and Karan Rathi, saying, "It is because of the hard work and guidance of these coaches that Zoya has reached this position today."
Zoya's achievement has brought joy not only to her family but to the entire village. By achieving such great success at such a young age, Zoya has inspired everyone.
