New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): The Election Commission of India (ECI) is now preparing a new and easy digital platform, which will facilitate voters, election officials, political parties and social organizations. This new platform will be named ECInet. ECInet will bring together more than 40 mobile and website apps already existing with the Election Commission and give them a new look.

This will be a single-stop app that will integrate more than 40 old mobile and web apps of the Election Commission. With the great user interface of ECInet, it will also be very easy to use, as all the election work will be done at one place. Now people will not need to download different apps and remember different logins.

This platform was launched in March 2025 when Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar and two other Election Commissioners Dr. Sukhbir Singh Sandhu and Dr. Vivek Joshi planned it in the conference of Chief Electoral Officers (CEOs). Through ECInet, users will be able to easily view important information related to elections on their computer or smartphone.

ECInet will allow users to easily access important election-related information on their computers or smartphones. To ensure that the information is accurate, data on ECInet will be entered only by authorized Election Commission officials. Data entry by the concerned official will ensure that the information received by stakeholders is as accurate as possible. However, in case of any dispute, the primary data duly filled in the statutory forms will prevail.

ECINET will include several existing apps such as Voter Helpline App, Voter Turnout App, cVIGIL, Suvidha 2.0, ESMS, Saksham and KYC App. All these apps together have been downloaded more than 5.5 crore times so far.

ECINET is expected to benefit around 100 crore voters and over 10.5 lakh Booth Level Officers (BLOs), around 15 lakh Booth Level Agents (BLAs) appointed by political parties, around 45 lakh Polling Officers, 15,597 Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (AEROs), 4,123 Electoral Registration Officers (EROs) and 767 District Election Officers (DEOs) across the country involved in the entire election process.

This app is almost ready and is being tested thoroughly so that it works smoothly and is completely safe. Before making it, opinions have been taken from 36 Chief Electoral Officers, 767 District Officers and 4,123 EROs of all the states and union territories. Also, 76 publications containing 9,000 pages of election rules, instructions and booklets issued by the Election Commission from time to time have also been reviewed.

The information provided through ECInet will be within the legal ambit of the Representation of the People Act, 1950, 1951, Registration of Electors Rules, 1960, Conduct of Elections Rules, 1961 and the instructions issued by the Election Commission from time to time.
