New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Voting took place last Thursday for five Assembly seats across four states. The results are being declared today, and vote counting began at 8 AM at respective centers. The bypolls were held on June 19 in Punjab’s Ludhiana West, West Bengal’s Kaliganj, Kerala’s Nilambur, and Gujarat’s Visavadar and Kadi seats. The countdown for results has officially begun.

In Punjab’s Ludhiana West, AAP’s Sanjeev Arora has taken a lead of over 10,000 votes, followed by Congress’ Bharat Bhushan in second place. BJP’s Jeevan Gupta has fallen to third position, trailing by more than 7,000 votes.

In Gujarat’s Visavadar seat, AAP’s Gopal Italia, who was leading in early trends, is now trailing behind BJP’s Kirti Patel, who has taken a lead of over 23,000 votes. The contest between BJP and AAP is proving to be neck-and-neck. On the Kadi seat, BJP candidate Rajendra Chhabda is also leading. In West Bengal’s Kaliganj, TMC candidate Alifa Ahmed is ahead, with Congress’ Kabiluddin Sheikh in second and BJP’s Ashish Ghosh in third. In Kerala’s Nilambur, Congress’ Aryadan Shoukath is leading against CPIM’s M. Swaraj.
