China Warns Countries with US Trade Deals: 'Will Not Accept, Will Strongly Respond'

Beijing (The Uttam Hindu): The ongoing trade war (tariff war) between the US and China is getting deeper. In this connection, China has now given a stern warning to other countries. China has clearly said that if any country enters into a trade agreement with the US that is against China's interests, Beijing will not accept it and strict retaliatory measures will be taken against it.
This warning from China comes at a time when there are reports that US President Donald Trump's administration is putting pressure on many countries of the world that if they want tariff exemption from America, then they will have to limit their trade with China.
It is worth noting that President Trump has imposed a general tariff of up to 10% on products from around the world, but this rate has been increased to 245% for goods coming from China. In response to this, China has also imposed a duty of up to 125% on products imported from America. Due to this trade policy of America, global trade has been caught in crisis and the fear of recession has also increased.
China's Commerce Ministry issued a statement on Monday saying, "If any country makes a big deal with America by ignoring China's interests, then such an attitude will ultimately prove harmful for both sides."
In the statement, Beijing accused the US of imposing tariffs on its trading partners and threatening them in the name of negotiations on 'retaliatory tariffs'. The ministry categorically stated that China is fully capable of defending its legitimate rights and will fight this 'battle' till the end.
However, US President Donald Trump claims that talks are going on between the US and China regarding trade. Speaking to reporters at the White House, he said, "Yes, we are talking to China. I think we are going to make a very good deal with China."
But there has been no public confirmation of this conversation from China so far. On the contrary, Beijing has described America's trade policies as 'unilateral and protectionist' and warned that it will push the world into an era of 'jungle law', where the strong will exploit the weak.
