Cobra's bite proves fatal: Man's snake stunt ends in tragedy

Karnal (The Uttam Hindu): A shocking incident has come to light in Karnal, Haryana. A young man's stunt with a venomous snake proved so costly that he lost his life. While performing a stunt with a dangerous cobra caught from a cremation ground around his neck, the snake bit him, resulting in his death. The deceased has been identified as 35-year-old Rajendra, a resident of Sandir village.

He had a strange hobby of playing with snakes

According to family members, Rajendra was passionate about catching snakes and often risked his life. Wherever he saw a snake, he would catch it and play with it. Because of this peculiar interest and fearlessness with snakes, the villagers even nicknamed him "Zahreela." He would sometimes perform dangerous stunts like tying a rope to a snake's tail and spinning it around in public. But Sunday proved fatal for him.

A snake was found during construction work at a crematorium

According to reports, Rajendra Sandir worked as a laborer in the village to support himself and his family. On Sunday, construction work was underway at the village crematorium. During the incident, the laborers spotted a dangerous snake. Frightened, they immediately informed the village sarpanch. The sarpanch, taking precautions, instructed the laborers to stay away from the snake and called in professional snake handler Satish Phafdana to capture it. It took the snake handler about half an hour to reach the village.

Despite warnings, the cobra wrapped itself around the neck and the man died

News of the snake appearing at the cremation ground reached Rajendra before the Snakeman arrived. He immediately rushed there and, completely ignoring the warnings of the people present, caught the cobra. According to villagers, Rajendra picked up the dangerous snake, put it around his neck, and began playing with it. During this feat, the snake bit him. Terrified, Rajendra left the snake there and tried to walk away, but collapsed on the ground a short distance away.

The doctor declared him dead at home

Upon learning of the accident, Rajendra's family rushed to the scene in a panic and immediately took him home. By the time they arrived, his condition had deteriorated significantly. The family immediately called a local doctor, but after examination, the doctor declared him dead. Snakeman Satish Phafdana, who arrived at the scene shortly after the incident, safely captured the dangerous cobra, but by then one person had already died.
