CRPF Jawan Detained by NIA for Spying for Pakistan's Intelligence Agency

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Delhi based CRPF jawan has been arrested for allegedly spying for Pakistan. He was passing on sensitive information to Pakistan's intelligence agency. He was detained by NIA and is accused of using social media platforms for selling confidential information to Pakistani agents in return of hefty amount.
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) took immediate action and detained the jawan after getting wind of the espionage racket. The agency is now conducting strict interrogation to determine the extent of the information shared and whether the jawan was working alone or as part of a network. Following the arrest, the CRPF has dismissed the jawan from service as per their rules. Sources reveal that the jawan had already sent sensitive documents and information to his handlers in Pakistan, which could be part of a terrorist conspiracy or confidential information related to border areas.
This case bears similarities to the recent arrest of YouTuber Jyoti Malhotra, who was accused of sending intelligence information to Pakistan. The NIA has been working tirelessly to crack down on espionage cases, including the recent arrest of a key Khalistani terrorist who escaped from Nabha jail. The tension in Indo-Pak relations is well-known, and Pakistan's strategy has shifted from direct war to espionage and cyber means. Social media platforms and messenger applications have become essential tools for Pakistan's intelligence agencies to gather information and recruit spies.
This case raises serious concerns about India's security system and highlights the need for vigilance in the digital age. The NIA's efforts to uncover espionage networks and prevent further breaches of security are crucial in maintaining national security.
