Doors of Bhukund Bhairav Nath, Guardian of Kedarnath Dham, Opened; Evening Aarti of Baba Kedarnath to Commence

Rudraprayag (The Uttam Hindu): The doors of Kedarnath Dham's protector i.e. Kshetrapal Bhukund Bhairav Nath in Uttarakhand have opened on Saturday after rituals and worship. The doors of Kedarnath were opened a day earlier, on 2 May. According to a long standing tradition, the doors of Bhairav Nath are opened on the first Tuesday or Saturday (whichever comes first) immediately after the opening of the doors of Kedarnath. After this, the famous Sandhya Aarti starts along with the Aartis held in Kedarnath Dham.
Bhairav Nath is called the protector of Kedarnath. Bhairav Nath is the most powerful among the devotees of Lord Shiva. On Saturday, while opening the doors of Bhairav Nath, Yagya-Havan, Puja-Archana were performed in the presence of Kedarnath temple's chief priest Bagesh Ling and the right holders and priests and the deity descended on Bhairav Nath's Pashwa and blessed everyone for the success of the Yatra.
It is noteworthy that the doors of Kedarnath Dham were opened for devotees on May 2 with due rituals. On the very first day (Friday) after the doors were opened, there was a lot of enthusiasm among the devotees for the darshan. On the first day, a record 30,154 pilgrims had the darshan of Baba Kedar. According to information received from the District Disaster Management Officer, till 7 pm on Friday, a total of 30,154 devotees including 19,196 men, 10,597 women and 361 children had visited the temple.
Kedarnath Dham is an important part of the Char Dham Yatra. Every year a large number of devotees come here to have darshan of Baba Kedar. This year, a lot of enthusiasm is being seen among the devotees from the very first day of the Yatra. Earlier, the doors of Yamunotri Dham were opened on the holy festival of Akshaya Tritiya. The doors of Yamunotri Dham were opened for devotees on 30 April at 11:55 am with Vedic chanting. A large number of devotees were also present during this time. Now the doors of Badrinath Dham will also open on Sunday.
