Phagwara-Hoshiarpur 4-Lane Road Inaugurated: A New Era of Connectivity

Phagwara (The Uttam Hindu): The inauguration of Phagwara-Hoshiarpur-4-lane road marked a significant milestone in the region's infrastructure development. Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari laid the foundation stone for this project on January 10, 2024. Former Union Minister Som Prakash played a crucial role in bringing this project to fruition.
Project Details
The 48.622 km project includes two bypasses: one starting from village Jamalpur, connecting to Mehli-Chandigarh-Phagwara bypass, and the other from village Madulli Brahmana, reaching Una road. The highway is designed for speeds of 100 km per hour, with 73.044 km of slip roads to be constructed. The project also involves building 1 big bridge, 11 small bridges, 20 underpasses, 1 railway overbridge and 41 small junctions.
Infrastructure and Cost
The total cost of the project is estimated at Rs 1058 crore, with an additional Rs 500 crore to be spent on land acquisition. The project is expected to be completed within two years and has been allotted to Path India Limited.
Inauguration Ceremony
The inauguration ceremony was attended by prominent personalities, including Madam Priyanka Meena, Project Director, National Highways and other officials from the National Highways Authority of India. Former Mayor Arun Khosla, District President Ranjit Singh Khojewal and other dignitaries were also present.
