Relief to Former SEBI Chairperson Madhabi Puri, Lokpal gives Clean Chit in Hindenburg Case
Mumbai (The Uttam Hindu): Lokpal has given a clean chit to SEBI's former chairperson Madhabi Puri Buch in the Hindenburg case. Lokpal's anti-corruption body has disposed of all the complaints against her in the Hindenburg case. Lokpal has said that there is no concrete evidence to order an inquiry against Buch. The order said, 'The allegations made in the complaints are based on mere conjecture and speculation.
There is no evidence with them which clearly shows that any crime has been committed under the 1988 law, so these complaints are closed. ' This means that no investigation will be conducted against Madhabi Puri Buch. At the end of 2024, Hindenburg released a report against the then SEBI chief Madhavi Puri Buch, in which it was claimed that SEBI chief Madhavi Puri Buch and her husband have a stake in the foreign fund of Adani Group. In this report, collusion between Adani Group and SEBI was alleged.
