Rafah (Uttam Hindu News): A major tragedy unfolded in southern Gaza on Sunday as gunfire erupted during a food distribution event, leading to the deaths of 32 Palestinians and injuries to more than 230 others. According to local health officials and the Gaza media office, the shooting occurred near an aid distribution site in Rafah and at the Netzarim Corridor. Of the total fatalities, 31 deaths and over 200 injuries were reported in Rafah alone, while one person was killed and 32 others injured in the Netzarim area. The Israeli military responded by stating that they had no immediate knowledge of injuries caused by their troops near the aid center and confirmed that the incident is under investigation.

Witnesses reported that chaos erupted as thousands of desperate Palestinians gathered at a GHF open center to collect food. Amidst the commotion, Israeli forces allegedly opened fire, triggering panic and destruction. The crowd, in anger and fear, later ransacked the center. This incident marks yet another grim chapter in the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza, where access to essential aid has become a matter of life and death.
