Hyderabad Fire Death Toll Reaches 17, PM Modi Expresses Condolences and Announces Compensation

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday expressed condolences to the people who were injured in the massive fire accident at Charminar in Hyderabad. PM Modi has announced assistance for the deceased and victims from PMNRF.
The compensation has been announced from PM Modi's official X handle. It was written- I am deeply saddened by the death of people in the fire incident. I express my condolences to those who have lost their loved ones. I wish the injured/burnt people a speedy recovery. An amount of Rs 2 lakh will be given to the family of each deceased from PMNRF, while the injured will be given Rs 50,000.
According to the information received, a massive fire broke out in a building in Hyderabad on Sunday, in which 17 people died and some others were injured. This incident took place at Gulzar House near the historic building Charminar. On receiving information about the incident, firefighters rescued some people trapped in a crowded street of the commercial area.
Some people fainted due to the thick smoke that spread in the premises. Around 30 people, including the pearl trader and his employees' families, were present there. The pearl trader's shop was on the ground floor of Modi Pearls, while his family and the families of some employees lived on the first floor. Eight fire engines were pressed into service to douse the fire. Senior police officials are present at the spot.
After visiting the accident site, Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy posted on social media platform 'X'. He wrote, "Inspected the accident site at Gulzar House near Charminar, Hyderabad. Discussed with senior officials handling the situation about rescue and relief operations and urged them to provide immediate medical assistance and help. Government of India will provide necessary assistance and support. I request the state government to take all necessary precautions including fire safety audit of buildings to avoid such accidents in future. My heartfelt condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in this accident and pray for the speedy recovery of the injured."
Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has expressed grief over the incident. He has directed the officials to take all steps to rescue the people trapped in the fire. According to the Chief Minister's Office (CMO), the Chief Minister is in touch with the police and fire department officials.
