India Launches Precision Strike Under Operation Sindoor, 9 Terrorist Hideouts in Pakistan Flattened

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): In a major development, the Government of India confirmed today the execution of **Operation Sindoor**, a precision air strike targeting terror infrastructure across the border in Pakistan. The operation was conducted in response to the **April 22 Pahalgam terror attack**, which claimed the lives of **26 civilians**, including one Nepali national, marking one of the deadliest terrorist incidents in India since the 2008 Mumbai attacks.

During a special briefing, Foreign Secretary **Shri Vikram Misri** condemned the "barbaric" assault in Pahalgam, identifying the **Resistance Front (TRF)**—a proxy for Pakistan-based **Lashkar-e-Taiba**—as the group responsible. The attack was characterized by close-range executions intended to spread fear and disrupt peace and tourism in Jammu and Kashmir.

Despite India's diplomatic engagement and intelligence-sharing with the international community, no credible action was taken by Pakistan against terror groups operating from its soil. As a result, India opted for a **measured, proportionate, and non-escalatory** response through Operation Sindoor.

According to officials, the air strikes lasted **25 minutes** and **eliminated nine terrorist hideouts**. The strikes were conducted based on verified intelligence inputs and focused exclusively on terror infrastructure, avoiding civilian harm.

Senior military officials **Colonel Sophia Qureshi** and **Wing Commander Vyomika Singh**, who joined the briefing, revealed operational specifics. They emphasized that India’s actions were aimed at **deterring future attacks** and ensuring the **security of its citizens**, in line with global counter-terrorism commitments.

India’s response has been positioned within the framework of **international law and the UN Security Council’s recent statement**, which called for bringing perpetrators and their sponsors to justice.
