Indian Air Force Flexes Muscle Near Pakistan Border with High-Intensity Fighter Jet Drills

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): In a powerful strategic move, the Indian Air Force (IAF) has launched a high-stakes air exercise near the Pakistan border, sending a clear message of strength and preparedness. On June 4, a NOTAM (Notice to Airmen) was issued for the airspace near Rajkot, Gujarat, indicating the start of a special aerial drill.
This zone lies just 100 kilometers from the Pakistan border and is adjacent to the Arabian Sea, giving it immense strategic significance. The airspace has been closed to civilian traffic from 3:30 PM to 9:00 PM during the operation.
Frontline combat jets including Rafale, Sukhoi-30 MKI, and Jaguar aircraft are participating in the drill, which is a key part of testing the IAF’s combat readiness, response time, and operational flexibility.
This military exercise follows closely on the heels of Operation Sindoor, where India intensified global pressure on Pakistan for its support of cross-border terrorism.
NOTAMs are critical aviation alerts used by defense or civil aviation authorities to inform pilots and air traffic controllers about temporary changes, threats, or special missions, ensuring flight safety.
Previously, on May 7 and 8, a similar high-intensity drill was conducted in the southern sector of the Rajasthan-Pakistan border, featuring advanced fighter aircraft like Rafales, Mirages, and Sukhois, highlighting India’s rapid response capabilities and unwavering focus on regional security.
