Jaiveer Shergill Slams Pakistan on Sky News: No Tolerance for Terror, Only Action

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): In a sharp and widely watched interview aired on Sky News, renowned international journalist Yalda Hakim engaged Indian BJP spokesperson and senior advocate Jaiveer Shergill on the recent military action undertaken by India in response to the Pahalgam terror attack. The conversation quickly became a powerful moment of messaging as Shergill offered a strong and unapologetic justification for India’s strikes under "Operation Sindoor."
Speaking to Yalda Hakim, Shergill minced no words in describing Pakistan's stance on peace. “When Pakistan talks about peace, it’s like the devil quoting the scriptures,” he said, echoing Hakim’s own earlier remarks that had drawn global attention. The Sky News segment brought international focus to the continuing threat of cross-border terrorism and India’s evolving doctrine of proactive defense.
Shergill emphasized that the Indian government had a duty to protect its citizens and sovereignty and highlighted the clarity of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 3E policy—Evaporate, Eliminate and Eradicate terrorism. According to Shergill, Operation Sindoor was not an escalation but a justified, proportionate response aimed at dismantling the infrastructure of terror housed in Pakistan and PoK.
“There was a time for patience and dossiers. That time is over,” Shergill stated. “Now is the time for action. We will not wait for more body bags to pile up.” He noted that Pakistan has repeatedly provided safe havens to globally proscribed terror groups and has failed to take accountability for attacks launched from its soil.
The Sky News discussion with Yalda Hakim served as a platform to reiterate India's stance that it will not hesitate to take targeted action to neutralize threats. Shergill further pointed out that international diplomacy cannot remain silent in the face of atrocities like the Pahalgam massacre, which killed 26 innocent people including women and children.
Hakim, known for her incisive interviews and global security coverage, pressed Shergill on the strategic goals of Operation Sindoor. In response, Shergill made it clear that India’s message to the terror ecosystem and their sponsors is unequivocal—there will be consequences.
As the segment gained traction across social media and international platforms, Shergill’s comments resonated with growing calls for a zero-tolerance approach toward terrorism. Yalda Hakim's interview with Shergill on Sky News has now become a focal point in the global discourse on India’s counterterror strategy and its response to state-sponsored extremism in the region.
