NIA To Question Youtuber Jyoti Malhotra on Her Terror Links

Hisar (The Uttam Hindu): YouTuber Jyoti Malhotra, arrested on serious charges of spying for Pakistan, has been taken into custody by the National Investigation Agency (NIA). The NIA team reached Hisar on Monday to question Jyoti, after which she was taken into custody and taken to Chandigarh. Now Jyoti will be questioned thoroughly by the NIA regarding her possible terror links. Jammu Intelligence will also question the YouTuber in this case.
Earlier, YouTuber Jyoti Malhotra's Instagram account was banned. She had 1.39 lakh followers on this account. On the night of Sunday, May 18, Hisar police also raided Jyoti's house and seized some important documents.
The initial investigation by Hisar police has also revealed that Jyoti had gone to Kashmir some time before the Pahalgam attack. She had traveled to Pahalgam, Gulmarg, Dal Lake and Pangong Lake in Ladakh. It is worth noting that Pangong Lake is close to the Line of Actual Control (LAC) with China. Jyoti had shared videos of these places on her YouTube channel.
Jyoti first visited Kashmir in the year 2024 and then again on 5 January 2025 this year. She also showed the border areas of Punjab and Rajasthan in her video, including the Attari-Wagah border and the Thar region of Rajasthan. Some of her videos shared on YouTube even showed the fencing on the India-Pakistan border.
The investigation by Hisar police has also revealed that she had also visited Pakistan in the month of March. The investigating agencies suspect whether she had visited Kashmir and the border states just for the purpose of sightseeing or whether she was providing information related to these sensitive areas to Pakistani intelligence agencies. The NIA will now take her into custody and investigate the matter in depth.
