'He Raped Me in my Sleep', Former Female MP narrates Husband's Brutality

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Kate Niveton, the ex-wife of former Burton MP Andrew Griffiths, has spoken openly about the cruelty inflicted on her by her husband. Kate Niveton said that her husband used to rape and assault her while she was sleeping.
Niveton alleges that when their newborn daughter was crying due to hunger, Griffiths shouted badly at her. She said, 'People do not think that this can happen to professional middle class people, but domestic violence has no limits. She told that she was married to Griffiths in the year 2013 and both separated in 2018. When she met Griffiths, she found him very attractive and sociable. She said, 'It all started when I was sleeping. I would wake up and he would start having sex with me. Sometimes I would feel like letting go, but many times I would cry. When this happened, he would stop many times, but his mood would get worse. I remember he kicked me out of bed. I would go to another room and lock myself for the whole night or go out of the house.'
Niveton said that when he started feeling that the newborn was also in danger, he took steps for safety. The special thing is that in the year 2006, Griffiths had thrown him out for sending 2 thousand obscene messages to 2 women of the area in just 3 weeks. In December 2021, the Family Court judge had ordered that he had committed violence and rape with his wife. Every time I used to say that I would complain to the police, he used to say that no one will believe you Kate. I am an MP here. I have good relations with the police. They all consider me good.
