Legal Trouble for Ajaz Khan: FIR Filed Over Obscene Content in 'House Arrest' Show

Mumbai (The Uttam Hindu) : Actor Ejaz Khan, who became famous after appearing in Bigg Boss, is currently in the news for his new OTT show 'House Arrest'. An FIR has been registered against him for showing obscene content in his controversial show. A case has been registered against Ejaz and others associated with the show at Amboli Police Station in Mumbai. "Based on the complaint by Bajrang Dal activist Gautam Ravariya, the police have registered a case against actor Ajaz Khan, web show 'House Arrest' producer Rajkumar Pandey and others of Ullu app," an official from the Amboli police station said on Friday. According to the complaint, obscene language was used in the web show and the acts done in the show insulted the dignity of women. He said, "The complainant informed that she received several complaints about the obscene content of the show and many people sent her personal messages to complain about it."'Obscenity served in the show' The producer and host of 'House Arrest' have been charged under sections of the Indian Penal Code (BNS), Public Information Act and the Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act, the official said. In the video clip of the web show that went viral on social media, Khan is seen pressuring the participants, including women, to perform intimate situations. He also asks some obscene questions to the participants.

On Thursday, Maharashtra BJP MLC Chitra Wagh demanded an immediate ban on 'House Arrest' and alleged that its content is obscene and harmful to society, especially children. She also urged Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw to take strict action against mobile applications promoting such content.Speaking against the show, Wagh said, "Ajaz Khan who calls himself an actor has made a show called 'House Arrest' which is nothing but the epitome of obscenity. The clips of this show which was streamed on the Ullu app are now circulating openly on social media and they are extremely obscene."
