New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): In a significant move aimed at curbing absenteeism in tehsil offices and easing public inconvenience, the government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann has issued strict orders requiring Tehsildars and Naib Tehsildars to remain present in offices from 9 AM till evening.

Revenue and Rehabilitation Minister Hardeep Singh Mundian shared this information today, stating that Deputy Commissioners have been instructed to ensure the attendance of officers in tehsil offices. The attendance of Tehsildars, Naib Tehsildars and Sub-Registrars will now be marked through the M-Seva app. To facilitate this, the GPS locations of all offices will be provided to the Revenue Department.

Mr. Mundian added that in the case of vacant stations, alternate arrangements should be made—prioritizing seniority based on staff availability—so that individuals coming in for registrations do not face any inconvenience. He further stated that if someone has booked an appointment online through the official website, their registration must be completed on the same day without delay.

To ensure strict compliance with the instructions issued by the Revenue Department, Financial Commissioner (Revenue) Anurag Verma has sent formal letters to all Deputy Commissioners. The minister emphasized that the government’s primary goal is to make sure that citizens do not face any difficulty in getting property registrations or related tasks completed.
