(The Uttam Hindu): There is a breaking news for SBI cardholders. Two major changes have been made which will be effective from July 15,2025 and are said to impact the Minimum Amount Due (MAD) calculation and complimentary air accident insurance coverage.

New Minimum Amount Due Calculation

The MAD formula will now include:

1. 100% of GST

2. 100% of EMI amount

3. 100% of fees and charges

4. 100% of finance charges

5. Overlimit amount (if applicable)

6. 2% of the remaining balance outstanding

This means you'll need to pay a larger amount each month, as the calculation now includes more charges.

Discontinuation of Complimentary Air Accident Insurance

The following SBI Credit Cards will no longer offer complimentary air accident insurance coverage from July 15, 2025²:

1. SBI Card Elite: Up to ₹1 crore insurance cover discontinued

2. SBI Card Miles Elite: Up to ₹1 crore insurance cover discontinued

3. SBI Card Miles Prime: Up to ₹1 crore insurance cover discontinued

4. SBI Card Prime: Up to ₹50 lakh insurance cover discontinued

5. SBI Card Pulse: Up to ₹50 lakh insurance cover discontinued

Additional cards that will lose complimentary Air Accident Insurance coverage from August 11, 2025, include:

1. UCO Bank SBI Card ELITE

2. Central Bank of India SBI Card ELITE

3. PSB SBI Card ELITE

4. KVB SBI Card ELITE

5. KVB SBI Signature Card

It's essential to review these changes and plan your finances accordingly to avoid any unexpected charges or loss of benefits.
