Bareilly (The Uttam Hindu): A heartbreaking incident has come to light from Bhuta police station area of the district, where a husband turned into a monster under the influence of alcohol. The accused beat his five-month pregnant wife with sticks and rods in such a way that both her hands and one leg broke. Crossing the limits of cruelty, the woman's liver burst due to the beating, due to which she and the baby in her womb also died a painful death.

The team of doctors who conducted the post-mortem of the deceased Suman (25) was also stunned to see the injuries. According to the report, both of Suman's arms and right leg were broken and her liver had burst. The five-month-old female foetus in her womb was also fully developed, which died in the womb itself.

What is the whole matter?

The incident took place in Magarasa village of Bhuta police station area. Late on Wednesday night, the accused Sompal reached home drunk and started abusing his wife Suman. When Suman protested, Sompal started beating her. To save her life, Suman ran to the house of her disabled mother-in-law Kameshwari Devi, who lived separately nearby, and pleaded, “Mother, save me, he will kill me.”

Mother-in-law Kameshwari tried to save her daughter-in-law, but the cruel husband locked his disabled mother in the toilet and took Suman to the room and beat her with sticks until she died. The neighbors heard Suman's screams, but no one had the courage to save her.

Puranlal, father of the deceased and resident of Margapur village of Kyoldia police station area, said that he had married his daughter Suman to Sompal about five years ago. Ever since the marriage, Sompal used to beat Suman after drinking alcohol and pressurize her to bring one lakh rupees from her parents. When he reached his daughter's in-laws' house on Thursday morning after getting information from the police, her body was lying soaked in blood.

On the complaint of Puranlal, the police have registered a murder case against the accused husband Sompal. The accused is absconding since the incident. SP (South) Anshika Verma said, a case has been registered on the basis of the complaint. Three police teams have been deployed to arrest the accused and he will be arrested soon.
