Chandigarh (The Uttam Hindu): Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Tuesday made serious allegations against the Central Government regarding water. He said that it is pressurizing Punjab through the Bhakra Beas Management Board (BBMB) to give additional water to Haryana. The Chief Minister termed this move as "another dirty trick" of the Central Government and made it clear that Punjab will not give even a drop of additional water from its share to Haryana.

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann wrote on the social media platform X, another dirty trick is being played by the BJP central government regarding Punjab's water, we will not let it succeed at any cost. In a statement issued on Tuesday, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann said that every year the quota of water distribution is fixed from May 21 to May 21 of the next year. During this period, Punjab and Haryana are given water according to their share.

He claimed that Haryana has already used up all its share of water in the month of March, while now additional water is being demanded for April and May. The Chief Minister said, Haryana has already used up all its share of water in March. Now it is demanding additional water for April and May, which will not be accepted under any circumstances. Punjab will use only its share of water and not even a single drop of extra water will be given to Haryana.

Bhagwant Mann accused the central government of being biased and said that it was using BBMB to exert undue pressure on Punjab. He said that Punjab's water resources are already limited and the farmers of the state are also in dire need of it. Chief Minister Mann said that if the central government continued with such policies, the Punjab government and the people would strongly oppose it.
