New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Pakistan, the home of terrorism, is now facing a problem. Millions of people in Pakistan are facing the threat of starvation. This has been revealed in a United Nations report.

According to the FAO's 2025 Global Report on Food Crisis released by the United Nations, it is feared that 11 million people in Pakistan are facing hunger. This includes 68 rural districts, which fall in the troubled areas of Pakistan, Balochistan, Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. After the floods in this area, about 22 percent of the population is on the verge of dying from hunger. According to the report, there is a severe shortage of food grains in many areas and people are just one step away from an emergency like famine.

According to this report, 1.7 million people in Pakistan are in an emergency situation. Population coverage increased by 38 percent between the situation of 2024 and the current situation of 2025. The report also said that despite the improvement in the situation compared to last year, the weather conditions will affect the livelihood of the people. The situation in Pakistan for 2024 remained the same as in 2023. Between November 2023 and January 2024, 11.8 million people were facing severe food insecurity. Talking about other aspects of the report, 68 areas of rural districts are plagued by poverty and decades of political neglect. At the same time, about 22% of the population of these areas is on the verge of starvation after the devastating floods in many places. Malnutrition has also emerged as a major concern in the southern provinces of Balochistan and Sindh.
