New Delhi(The Uttam Hindu): You will be shocked to know the prices people in gaza are paying for a Rs.5 biscuit. In the war torn area of Gaza strip, Parle-G biscuits which we can purchase in Rs 5 are selling for Rs 2,342. Due to Israel- Hamas conflict the inflation has reached its all time high making the residents struggle for even basic necessities.

Mohammad Jawad, a resident of Gaza, recently shared a viral post about buying a packet of Parle-G biscuits for his daughter Ravif, despite the exorbitant price of over €24 (Rs 2,342). Jawad's post highlighted the desperation and sacrifice that many parents in Gaza are making to provide for their families.

The price hike of Parle-G biscuits is not an isolated incident. Essential commodities like sugar and potatoes are being sold at absurd prices, with one kg of sugar costing nearly Rs 5,000 and potatoes selling for close to Rs 2,000. Humanitarian watchdogs have warned of famine-like conditions in Gaza, with children being the worst affected.

The ongoing conflict has led to a severe shortage of food, clean water, and medicine in Gaza. The United Nations and international relief agencies have repeatedly warned of a catastrophic humanitarian crisis in the enclave. As the war continues, the people of Gaza are facing an unprecedented level of hardship, with many struggling to survive.
