New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Ahead of the scheduled conversation between the Director Generals of Military Operations (DGMOs) of India and Pakistan, a high-level meeting is taking place at the residence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Reportedly, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), the chiefs of the three armed forces, and several other senior officials have arrived at the Prime Minister’s residence to participate.

It is expected that at 12 noon, the DGMOs of India and Pakistan will speak via the hotline to discuss the continuation of the ceasefire and the possibility of maintaining long-term peace. India is also likely to raise the issue of ceasefire violations by Pakistan during this conversation.

Earlier, on May 11, Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired a high-level meeting at his residence with top defence officials. The meeting was attended by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval, Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan, and the heads of the Army, Navy, and Air Force.

This meeting comes amid a tense calm along the India-Pakistan border, where no new ceasefire violations have been reported recently. On Saturday evening, Pakistan violated the ceasefire, but peace was restored later that night. Pakistan had earlier expressed commitment to adhere to the ceasefire.

On Sunday evening, Indian Army DGMO Lieutenant General Rajeev Ghai held a press briefing and stated that the main objective of 'Operation Sindoor' was to eliminate terrorism, in which the Indian Army achieved tremendous success.

Lieutenant General Ghai reported that over 100 terrorists were killed during the operation, and many of their bases were destroyed. He added, "We gave an appropriate response to the terrorist attack and have confirmed the destruction of terror camps with evidence."
